Makeshift Christmas trees

I remember there was one Christmas where things got quite bad, and we didn't have enough left over for a tree. Thing was, we still had some of the artificial pine leaves from the previous tree, but for some reason, the frame was damaged beyond repair. It was also our fault really. We should have taken better care of the tree throughout the year, but sometimes you just put it away somewhere, and you don't check it for months, so that when you finally do unearth it, it's no longer any good.

So we actually had the green stuff. What we lacked though was a frame. What followed was a rather random bit of wandering around the house, looking for something of the right height, and the right shape. We weren't in a position to actually build a frame, so we were looking for something that would make do.

Finally, after quite a bit of looking, we found something which we thought might be alright.
