Christmas tree economy

I guess, in a way, looking back, I can get a picture of how our family has done financially over the years by remembering our Christmas trees.

In the beginning, we had no tree. Then things picked up, and we had what I felt was a wonderfully sized and wonderfully lush tree. It didn't quite reach the ceiling. It wasn't terribly tall, but it was tall enough. And the artificial foliage was thick. Later though, times got hard again, and we had no tree. That was around the time that a garden ornament found itself in the unlikely position of potential Christmas tree. Nowadays, we have a tree at least. But compared to some of the trees of our yesteryears, it's a rather thin tree.

It's tall enough, but shorter than what we would have liked. And the foliage isn't very thick. You can see the branches pretty much. There's a lot of space there between the green. But times are tough so we make do with what we've got.
